“American Gods,” by Neil Gaiman

I know it's a cult classic, but it wasn't my favorite. And I'm not smart enough to put a finger on why… Shadow, I think? I would have preferred for him to want more things? And it was a little too vicious for me at times… though I loved the “body in the trunk” reveal. And I loved that the climax was at Rock City! Very surreal — my family went there almost every summer for years.

Overall, it didn't resonate with me, but it's not a bad book.
